Description

Lincoln Seward Cochran was born on the east side of Droop, West Virginia on February 21, 1864 to David James Cochran and Hannah Duffield.

Lincoln Cochran's first marriage was to Effie A. McCoy, daughter of William O. and Nancy Bull McCoy. Their eight children were: Verdie, Edgar, Betty, Remus, Nannie,Beulah, Harry, and Clyde. Lincoln's second marriage was to Emma Grace McNeil, daughter of the Rev. John McNeil and born near Marlinton, West Virginia. Their two children were Elizabeth and John.

Lincoln S. "Link" Cochran was a Prohibition lawman being appointed Constable at Cass in 1905 then elected Sheriff of Pocahontas County in 1912. He died on May 4, 1938 and is buried at the Old Droop Church in Beard, W.Va. on a beautiful knoll a short distance beyond the covered bridge on Locust Creek.
